First Presbyterian Church Youth

Our youth group meets on the first and third Sundays of the month doing various activities, mission work, study, and fellowship. With the commitment to following Christ's will in their lives, the youth of First Pres have led the adults in several ways. They have worked with other youth groups in Albany to feed the hungry. Raised money for Mission Change's Hope for the Homeless and Hungry, slept in boxes for the night, and wrote letters to government officials to raise awareness of the homeless epidemic in Albany. The attend retreats to grow together and learn more about God and attend denominational wide events to grow with Christians throughout the country. There is no doubt that our youth are "Riding the wave of the Holy Spirit!"

The Deacon Board:
When members and friends need help, become sick, experience a death in the family, or are overjoyed at a new arrival, the deacons make sure they are available to help everyone get through it. Whether it is an ear to listen, a hand to hold, or a hot meal to feed a hungry mouth the deacon board is there to assist during life's highs and lows with the love of Christ.
The Presbyterian Women:
Every second Tuesday of the month the PW group meets at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Classroom. Stories are shared, there is always a bible study, and women get to grow in their relationship with God.
The Session:
Those elected to run the church are of this body. They meet every month and chair many of First Presbyterian's committees. Working hard to meet the demands of a growing church this group will be responsible for much of what will take place in the following months to ensure we are becoming God's hope and joy!
